How Deep the Father's Love for Us

How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will nost boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

"Rex" Book Review

Rex: A Mother, Her Autistic Child, and the Music that Transformed Their Lives is a life-changing story. The story of Rex and his mother Cathleen Lewis is also an encouraging read. The author shares her incredible and painful story with the world in a way that draws in her readers and enables them to have a glimpse into the life of a woman who had dreams for her son that were suddenly changed. Cathleen is real with her readers about the emotions she faced in each stage of Rex’s development. Her experiences will resonate with other parents who have faced difficult situations with children who have developmental or physical difficulties. Cathleen’s relationship with God gives her hope and strength as she goes through each day with her talented son. Rex is an amazing boy whose story needs to be heard. Instead of sensationalizing his talent, his mother does a fantastic job of sharing their true journey with her readers. Whether in joy or pain, Rex and his mother have experienced many years of rich life experiences that will continue to drive them to love God with all their hearts and seek His face for whatever may lie ahead. This book is a fantastic read and will change your life and challenge your perspective of parents who take care of their challenged children.
